Marsha understands that no two cases are the same. She prides herself in taking the time to listen to the client in order to assess the case and provide the client with the legal advice and zealous representation needed for that client’s case. Marsha represents clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, and adoption cases. Marsha also assists families with their estate planning needs. Being a practicing attorney in Maryland since December 2000, has afforded Marsha the opportunity to build upon the knowledge and expertise needed to handle the most difficult case.
Marsha attended Rutgers University - New Brunswick where, in 1997, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. In 2000, she earned her Juris Doctor degree from Howard University School of Law. Upon graduating from law school, Marsha began her legal career with the House of Ruth of Maryland. While at the House of Ruth, Marsha advocated on behalf of and represented clients involved in domestic violence cases. In 2002, Marsha joined Maryland Legal Aid - Southern Maryland Office as a Staff Attorney and was later promoted to Senior Attorney. During her tenure at Maryland Legal Aid, Marsha represented clients in child welfare proceedings in Maryland’s trial and appellate courts.
In 2019, Marsha was recognized by The Daily Record as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women for outstanding achievement in her legal career and for community leadership. In 2020, The Daily Record named Marsha as a Leadership in Law Honoree for her dedication to the legal field and to her community.
Marsha has called St. Mary’s County home since 2002. She is an active member of the St. Mary’s County branch of the NAACP #7025, a member and the scholarship chair of the St. Mary’s County Bar Association, an adult advisor board member on St. Mary’s County Youth Advisory Commission, and a member of the Board of Directors for the St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce.
